Rule 01

Respect everyone

  • Treat every member with respect, even when you disagree.
  • No harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech or discriminatory language.
  • Friendly banter is welcome, but stop when somebody makes it clear they are uncomfortable.
  • Do not target, provoke or repeatedly follow another member across channels.
  • Keep disagreements civil and move personal disputes out of public channels.

Rule 02

Appropriate content

  • No illegal, sexually explicit, excessively graphic or intentionally shocking content.
  • Do not post malicious downloads, phishing links, scams or misleading links.
  • Profile names, avatars, statuses and custom messages must follow the community rules.
  • Use spoiler tags where appropriate and respect channel-specific content guidance.

Rule 03

Use channels correctly

  • Post in the most relevant channel and read pinned messages before joining a discussion.
  • Keep support requests and reports inside the ticket system.
  • Do not derail active conversations or repeatedly post off-topic content.
  • Follow any extra guidance shown in a channel description or staff announcement.

Rule 04

Spam & promotion

  • Do not flood channels with repeated messages, emojis, images, reactions or mentions.
  • Do not mass mention members or roles without a genuine reason and permission.
  • Advertising other communities, servers, products or services requires staff approval.
  • Do not send unsolicited promotional messages to community members.

Rule 05

Privacy & safety

  • Never share another person’s private information without clear permission.
  • No doxxing, account theft, impersonation or attempts to gain access to another member’s accounts.
  • Do not pressure members to reveal personal information, private messages or private media.
  • Report suspicious accounts, compromised links and safety concerns privately to staff.

Rule 06

Voice channels

  • Do not shout over others, play disruptive audio or deliberately create excessive background noise.
  • Soundboards and music are only acceptable when everyone in the channel is comfortable with them.
  • Do not repeatedly join, leave or move channels to disrupt members.
  • Recording or streaming private voice conversations requires permission from everyone involved.

Rule 07

Staff & moderation

  • Follow reasonable staff instructions and do not interfere with moderation.
  • Do not impersonate staff or falsely claim to speak on behalf of BanterGaming.
  • Warnings and punishments may be adjusted based on severity, history and context.
  • If you disagree with a decision, submit an appeal rather than arguing in public channels.

Rule 08

Reports & appeals

  • Use the Discord ticket system for reports, appeals and sensitive support requests.
  • Provide message links, screenshots and a clear explanation wherever possible.
  • Do not publicly accuse members or encourage others to target someone you have reported.
  • False reports, edited evidence or abusing the ticket system may result in action.
  • Keep ticket information private while staff investigate.

Not every harmful behaviour can be listed individually. Staff may act when conduct clearly undermines the safety or enjoyment of the community.
